THE MINDFULNESS PRACTICE
GROUP OF ANNAPOLIS

Unitarian Universalist Buddhist Fellowship chalice
The Mindfulness Practice Group is a community, a sangha supporting each other in meditation practices. We are peer-led and lay-led: We are all each others' teachers. All are welcome to sit with us; our group practices are Buddhist, yet we respect all meditation practices and celebrate the diversity of practice among us.

The MPG was established nearly two decades ago as a sangha in the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh, a Vietnamese Zen master and founder of the Order of Interbeing, whose speech and practice guidelines inspired our guidelines, our use of the bell, and many of our ceremonies. We are a supporting sangha of the Unitarian Universalist Buddhist Fellowship (the UUBF Lotus Chalice is at the upper right).

WHEN AND WHERE: We meet in the sanctuary at UUCA on Thursday evenings, 6:30 to 8:00. We begin with opening words and lighting of the chalice, followed by forty minutes of silent meditation. We usually have a talk or readings, followed by discussion.

On Sunday mornings our Introduction to Mindfulness and Meditation meets in the UU Sisterhood Room (formerly named the Young Room) on the lower level at UUCA from 9:00 to 10:00. These sessions are more beginner-friendly, with twenty minutes of lightly guided meditation.

We may be reached by email and would be pleased to add you to our email list which we use only for program announcements and room changes. Send Mail
